The haunting beauty of Osvaldo Golijov’s Night of the Flying Horses is paired with the great symphonist Gustav Mahler’s Symphony no. 4, which takes the listener on a journey through a child’s vision of paradise.

In the opening work, members of the San Diego Youth Symphony join forces with the La Jolla Symphony & Chorus orchestra for a performance of Afilador by the brilliant composer Andrea Casarrubios, who was first introduced to La Jolla audiences in the 2023-2024 season.
